Enshittification

Every platform that mediates between two or more groups faces an irresistible temptation to reallocate value from one group to another, then finally to itself. The decay isn't a bug or bad management—it's the predictable thermodynamics of rent-seeking in two-sided markets once switching costs are high enough to lock users in. The only reliable counterforce is interoperability and low switching costs, not trust in benevolent corporations.
